Oh, piss off. Hardly any games are original these days. If you think all games should be completely original, enjoy buying 1 game a year, if you're lucky. I've been a huge Guild fan since the original Europa , and while I have heard others refer to The Guild as a "medieval Sims," I don't think it's an accurate description. The Guild is a hybrid between a life sim and an economic sim, probably with as much emphasis on the economic part as anything else.

I doubt The Sims: Medieval will have a strong economic focus, but given what little we know viz. Also, I've never heard anyone complain about The Guild's user interface. It's actually quite intuitive, with almost every single 2D icon serving as a "shortcut" for its in-game manifestation. You can also right click every 2D icon to get detailed information about it. I think The Guild has an amazing interface that The Sims could "borrow" a few ideas from.

Anyway, regardless of the similarities, I suspect I'll enjoy playing The Guild and The Sims: Medieval for some similar - but many different - reasons. I actually kind of hope it isn't that much like The Guild, just because I seriously doubt it could be better than The Guild if it tried to imitate it.

My preference would be for a more sims-like experience with a little more emphasis on crafting skills. I don't really care about combat too much but it sounds like there might be some form of it. I think a thief profession would be more fun, perhaps something giving us the ability to break into other people's houses while actually controlling our character. You know, the combat might be a bit like what World Adventures has with the martial arts.
