Griga Posted April 26, I might just focus my attention on this now although if anyone has any experience on formats that reduce the file size and keep the pic quality I'll add them in for everyones reference. Fmrl Well-known Member. I'm guessing an unencrypted.

SD files networked off do not get the encryption removed but do when USB'd off. HD files do not get the encryption removed at all however you copy them off currently anyway.

I haven't tried You Tube stuff yet - I've been concentrating on DVD footage mainly but if you do try anything out let me know and I'll update my list. Doesn't seem to support flv files, no big deal as there's convertors available on the PC anyway.

Got the buffalo, set it up, connected it and the Humax found it straightaway. Humax didn't see them straightaway but after a restart it found the files and played them perfectly. Great picture as good as the original DVD , good sound inc surround sound and all the trick play worked. I might not need to worry about any other formats now unless I can find something that can do smaller file sizes.

The ones I'm using are about the same size as the VOBs so while I get a great picture it's still taking up maybe more disc space than necessary? On the other hand I have to assume I'll sacrifice quality to reduce the file size by anything from the original so I guess I'll stick with these.

So I tried to include the other files that came with the. New problem is: all copied films seem to consist of 3 files with. HMT and. NTS extensions. Now the DVD player rejects the disk as well. This thread seems to be the answer. This isn't that urgent. At least the Hitachi has helped clear some space on the Humax. What do you advise? The other files are sidecar files required by the hdr to play the. I tried Video Redo and several other highly recommended apps but bees knees they may be, but too complicated for me!

I just couldn't discover what settings I needed. Convertx just does exactly what I wanted right thru to burning a DVD. VLC player is brilliant though. Yes all you need is the. Last edited by a moderator: Oct 6, Just opened it with VLC: took me a while to realise I had to use right click and open with. It plays brilliant. Now for the conversion! Conversions take about an hour and a half - 2 hrs. Basically the software does the conversion as the movie plays, as far as I can see.

Struggle on! I'm sure VideoRedo is absolutely fine, I just couldn't find how to get it to work for me, ie convert a. A few minutes processing would be much better. Also is cost a factor? Been running for well over 2 hours and result icon is same.
